What can I borrow and for how long?

Loan policies
  • Books and DVDs can be renewed once.
  • Reserved books will be held for 5 days.​
  • All library notices are sent to your Whitecliffe email address.
  • Damaged, lost,​​ or stolen books are the responsibility of the student to replace.
  • Items on loan to you are your responsibility. Do not lend your books to someone else or leave them lying around.
  • You cannot borrow books if you have overdue books or fines exceeding $5.
Returning books

​​​Books are due back in the library by the due date (displayed on your receipt and on your library account).

If the library is closed, please return books to the after hours box next to the library door.​

Reserves

Books can be reserved for later collection, or if they are currently out with another patron. You will receive an automated email when reserved books are available to pick up. Reserves will be held for one week, unclaimed reserves are then returned to the shelves.

Renewals

Books can be renewed once unless reserved by another patron. This is to ensure the fair circulation of our small collection. If you are unable to return books on time due to unforseen circumstances please get in touch  [email protected]

Postgraduate borrowing & returns

Auckland students: Please visit the library to borrow books.

Students living outside Auckland: The library will send books to you, please reserve them on the catalogue. You are responsible for the cost of returning books to the library by the due date.

Lost/damaged book replacement

Library books on loan to you are your responsibility, please be careful about where you leave them. If a book is lost, stolen, or damaged it is the responsibility of the patron to replace them. Please contact us if you have lost or damaged a book [email protected]
